Mandatory Equipment
Athletes are required to carry the following mandatory equipment with them throughout the entire race.
Mandatory Equipment Checks
For race safety and the enforcement of race rules, the organisation reserves the right to inspect all or part of the mandatory equipment before the race, at the start area, at any point on the course, at CP points and at the finish area .
Whether an inspection is carried out, which items are checked, and the location and timing of the inspection are entirely at the discretion of the organisation.
The fact that no mandatory equipment inspection is carried out at a particular point does not mean that the relevant item is not mandatory. Athletes are required to carry the specified mandatory equipment with them throughout the entire race.
Any competitor found to be missing mandatory equipment during an official inspection by the organisation, or who refuses an equipment inspection, may be subject to the penalties specified in the race rules.
Important: After the race has been completed, objections concerning mandatory equipment that are based solely on statements, reports or complaints from other competitors will not be considered. Assessments of mandatory equipment violations will be based on the official inspections carried out by the organisation during the race and on the organisation’s records.
